Video mapping, photogrammetry and 3d scan integration : Ugo Cassanello

the show took place on September 13, 2016, in Paris, Hôtel de Ville, France

This project is very complete to explain you my skills. I've done most of the model in photogrammetry using 360° panoramic photos.

Some complex 3d parts came from a 3d scan, made by William Rault.

Then, once the model was done, I finally started the video mapping and 3d projection simulation.

That's why you can reach this page from the Video Mapping, Photogrammetry and 3d scan section !

Above you have some images to test light and shadows on the final and textured 3d model.

In the first image of the slide show below  you have the BHV building in solid colors to help setting up the projection once on site.

You can see the sculptures, in magenta, that came from the 3d scan.

The other images are about video mapping.

Impact 1 is a DUAL 10k HD,

impacts 2, 3 and 4 are DUAL 20k 4/3

Here you are a Google Maps top view of the BHV. I put a numbered dot in each location from where I took a 360° panoramic photo.

Most important ones are photo number 13 because it is the VIP point of view of the show, and number 12 because it is the location of the video projection.

You can click any of the preview image below to enter the correspondent panoramic photo, that will appear full screen in a new window.

Once inside a photo you can left clic and drag to pan and use the mouse wheel to zoom.

Below some images about the photogrammetry 3d modeling of the building.

In the first one you have a 3d layout. In the top left window you cans see 5 cameras inside 5 spheres, mapped whit the 360° photos.

You can also see a point cloud (red dots) in each viewport.

the very beginning of the 3d model, looking trough a camera inside the correspondent mapped 3d sphere

the 3d model, almost done, seen trough the camera number 13, at the projection location, before adding the 3d scan

And finally here you are the result of the show, on September 13, 2016
